Nursery Design Tips from a Fort Lauderdale Photographer

As a Fort Lauderdale photographer, I love doing in-home newborn sessions. There’s something so special about capturing your baby in a place where you’re going to make so many memories with them. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful nurseries as a newborn photographer, so I wanted to share some tips on how to design a nursery that will photograph beautifully for your newborn session.

Classic Design Choices

High quality, well made products by brands like Pottery Barn Kids, West Elm, Crate & Kids, RH Baby & Child, and Anthropologie look timeless and classic in photos. Using rich fabrics and textures on things like curtains or gliders add in layers of depth and dimension that photograph beautifully. Wallpaper is a fun way to add color and pattern - two of my favorite brands are Serena & Lily and Chasing Paper. Some of my favorite nurseries that I’ve captured as a Fort Lauderdale photographer also incorporate handmade pieces such as pillows and mobiles which you can get from Etsy.

Importance of Family Photos

I also think it’s important to have family photos displayed in the room. This will help your baby with family recognition since so many images live on our phones. The images of themself will also help develop confidence and help them know that their room is a loving, safe space. If you’re looking for a Fort Lauderdale photographer to capture your newborn, I would love to work with you!

Designing the perfect nursery for your newborn is such a meaningful experience. Selecting classic, well-built pieces while infusing touches of personality will help you make a nursery that’s both timeless and unique to your baby. As a Fort Lauderdale photographer, I enjoy seeing the nursery designs of each family I work with and capturing babies in those warm, welcoming spaces. If you’re looking to do an in-home newborn session in south Florida, I would love to capture those special moments for your family so let’s chat
