Newborn Session: Baby Dylan
You guys! This session makes my heart sing! Baby Dylan’s newborn session was my first in-home session since the pandemic. I’ve been super conscientious over the recent months because I want to be sure my clients feel secure and safe. So this session was the first with all of my new policies, procedures and practices.
One of the first things I did to prepare for the session was to stock up on PPE - for each session, I now wear a mask and gloves. I also sanitize all of my gear before and after each session.
Each client is required to complete a Covid waiver the night before their session to ensure that all parties are well. And although I don’t hold, cuddle and snuggle the babies like I normally do - I do help with adjusting them and making sure everyone looks beautiful and happy even before the click of the shutter. In addition, I now use a longer length focal lenses whenever possible.
I have to admit, that oddly enough, it almost felt normal to do all of this around a baby who is so small.
Dylan was such a sweet baby and super cooperative. I loved all of her expressions and how alert she was.
Her parents did an amazing job on wardrobe choices as well- everything was adorable and coordinated amazingly well with Dylan’s terra-cotta colored nursery.
Their home is so cozy and cute and everything they selected played off of the overall look and feel of their home. It was a Pinterest dream!
PS! Speaking of all the new policies, procedures and practices above, I’ve also started using new workflows!
During my time in quarantine, I wanted to work toward creating a better client experience. So I worked a lot on updating my systems and setting things up to provide timely information to serve my clients. Everything from tips for your sessions to ideal timeframes/timelines. It feels so good to be able to provide so much helpful information!
