One of the top things I share with all of my clients is my passion for print, so I’m sharing five reasons you should print from your photographer. I think we can all recognize the power and impact that a photograph can have. There is a reason the phrase “a picture is worth 1000 words" exits. But in a digital age many of us have lost the tangible photo albums that we loved so much growing up.
I remember going to my grandparents house and flipping through albums for hours. When she lost everything due to a hurricane, I wished she had digitized everything. Now, my wish is that everyone have digital and physical versions of the most precious (and mundane) moments in their lives.
Although I’m not going to knock all of the quick options out there for printing your images. I AM going to tell you that working with a professional photographer for printing your sessions is super important!

Professional Lab = Best Quality
When you purchase prints from your photographer, they’re using a professional lab. Which means you’re getting the best quality print available- the one that is truest to the photos you see on your screen. Running to CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target or where ever else you can get those one hour images is fine in a pinch, but the quality can’t even compare. Which leads me to…
Quality Control
There is no quality control with the “quick labs.” As a photographer, we also aren’t able to see the quality of image you’ve been provided, so we’re not able to ensure that it is true to how the image was meant to be. From color to crop, when we order your images, we’re able to ensure the quality is on point. Not only am I checking it twice before it goes to print, but an open communication with my lab helps me choose the best paper type, matting, and framing options for your specific image.
You Get a Finished Product
Another reason to print from your photographer is that we can help you choose the best sizes, frames and mattes for your needs. We can help you create the ideal arrangement of images and even mock-up how it will look in your space. I’m happy to help you build a gallery wall over time that with each investment in your images brings you closer to a design we’ve planned for well ahead.
