Milestone Moments: Maternity + Newborn Session for Baby Mimi + Mila

I cherish the opportunities to work with families for all of their milestone moments- the life-defining, life-giving parts of living that transition you from one role, into another. From fiance to wife, then from new mother to “experienced” mother. They alter the course of your life and to be witness to that change and growth brings me incredible joy. ESPECIALLY when it is happening to family.

Mimi is my sister-in-law, so I knew about baby Mila very early. I was able to capture the birth announcement (it was around Christmas, so they hoped in during my mini-sessions so they’d have something to share when they revealed the news), maternity session and later, Mila’s newborn session.

Watching not just my sister-in-law, but my brother, move through this stage of life is so special.

In a time when we’re told to keep our distance, having these images will mean looking back years from now, remembering with fondness all of the greatness that we experienced during an otherwise hard year.

Baby Mila is such a bundle of joy. She’s alert and calm, and her parents adore her beyond any words (any new parent knows exactly what I mean)!
