Your Senior deserves more than a school photo — here’s how to celebrate them right
Senior year goes fast. Embarrassingly, heartbreakingly, blink-and-you-missed-it fast.
One moment they’re getting their driver’s license. The next, they’re picking a college, packing a dorm, and suddenly you’re standing in the kitchen wondering how four years went by in what felt like a single afternoon.
Whether your senior walks across the stage from Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Coral Springs Charter, Pompano Beach High, Boca Raton Community High, Spanish River, Olympic Heights, or one of the incredible private schools in our area: American Heritage, Pine Crest, Saint Andrew’s School, North Broward Prep, or Pinecrest Schools — this year deserves to be documented beautifully.
Because the school photo? Lovely. But it doesn’t capture who they actually are.
What is a senior portrait session — and why do South Florida families love them?
A senior portrait session is a custom photography experience designed entirely around your teen. Not a generic backdrop. Not a rushed five-minute slot in a gym. This is a real session — at a location they love, in outfits that feel like them, capturing the personality they’ve spent 18 years becoming.
In Parkland, Boca Raton, Weston, and Coral Springs, senior portrait sessions have become a beloved tradition. Families use them for:
*Graduation announcements and senior cards to mail to family
*Wall portraits and gallery displays in the home
*College application headshots and LinkedIn profiles
*Yearbook submissions and senior superlatives
*A forever keepsake of who they were at 17 or 18 — before everything changed
When should you book? (Earlier than you think)
The short answer: junior year spring or early fall of senior year, but good news is you can inquire at any time!
Senior season in South Florida runs hot from August through November, but I much prefer a January/February/March date, when the light is golden, the weather is manageable, and yearbook deadlines are looming. Sessions in this window book up fast — especially for popular outdoor locations like Spanish River Park, Delray Oaks, Robbins Lodge, and the beach at sunrise.
Families who plan ahead get their pick of dates, locations, and time of day. Families who wait until October are scrambling. Don’t be the scramble family.
What a session looks like
Every senior session is custom. But here’s what most families in Parkland and Boca can expect:
*A pre-session style consult to plan outfits, locations, and the overall vibe
*Multiple looks — dressy, casual, athletic, or whatever reflects who they are
*One South Florida locations of their choice
*Optional bed party session add on (bring the props — we’ll bring the magic)
A beautiful, fully edited gallery delivered within three weeks
These sessions are also one of the last opportunities for a family photo before everything changes — many families add a quick family portrait at the end of the senior session. Just something to think about.
