Baby Boy Jayden's Newborn Session | New Jersey

Presenting baby Jayden! Portrait sessions in the post-Covid world, especially those of newborns, is a whole new ballgame, as they say! My very first session back in the swing of things ( Baby Dylan’s newborn session) included so much sanitizing and mask + glove wearing. Now that we’re months into this journey, I can’t say that I’ll go back to the way it was before when I’m photographing these precious little ones. Protecting our babies is so important and I take the task very seriously when I’m invited into your life to capture these early moments of life!

Jaden was born in November, just before Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful gift to be able to see his sweet little smile around the holidays.

I love the timeless, heirloom quality of a black and white image, so of course I couldn’t leave you without a few! These would be beautiful print collages or album pages.

The first year passes in such a blur- imagine creating an heirloom album with images from pregnancy and throughout the first year. When times get hard in parenthood (as they often do), you could simply pick it up and flip through the pages, seeing how far you’ve already come in the journey. Or 20-30 years from now, display it at your child’s wedding or present it to them when they have their first child. It makes me emotional just thinking about it!

Wondering when to book your newborn (or maternity) session?

Maternity is usually between 27-34 weeks but up to 36 weeks and newborn is usually done between 2-4 weeks postpartum and scheduled tentatively from the due date.

However, due to Covid, I’ve had babies as old as three months and some rescheduled for a six-month session. I also offer zoom sessions if you’re really feeling like you want to capture the moment but plan to commit to quarantine after birth.

My recommendation is always to book as soon as you can to guarantee your timeline. Babies require flexibility, so we’ll both do the best we can to ensure a smooth experience!
