Seasonal Family Photo
I’m passionate about capture life’s milestone moments, but also the everyday moments. Over the last 12 months, I’ve had to get creative with how many of those moments are captured, but find them even more important now than ever.
Each season is great for a different kind of family session, so be it Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite family session ideas from recent shoots!
Spring Family Session
Spring is a great season for photos because it feels so fresh (we all know how draining Winter can be)! We’re ready to enjoy the slightly warmer air and watch the leaves come back and the flowers bloom. It’s a generally joyful time, don’t you think? Choosing locations for a spring family session is really fun because if you choose right, you’ll have lots of fun color thanks to Mother Nature. I’ve always been a fan of Central Park in the spring, but I also love garden locations and museums.
Summer Family Sessions
Sunkissed days on the shore. Some of life’s happiest moments are on hot summer days, soaking up the sun at the beach, tan lines, ice cream bellies and picnics for dinner.
Fall Family Sessions
I think we were all ready for the magic of the fall season last year. There is something about the changing of the leaves and the slightly cooler temps that puts a spring in your step! I had an incredibly busy fall season - I hosted several rounds of mini sessions in NJ and NY, and got to meet so many wonderful families. This sweet family below is a milestone client- I’ve had the privilege of watching this family grow over the last couple of years- we’ve already had four sessions!

Winter Family Session
Great for snuggling up at home for a more “lifestyle” vibe. The winter can be harsh in New Jersey (as you know), so a family session at home is often the best solution. It’s really special to get to know people in their own home, as I can usually pick up things about their personality and preferences that I might not be able to in sessions held elsewhere.
As you’ve likely heard, gosh, they grow up so fast! Porter is just the sweetest and it’s been wonderful to add this family to my list of “Milestone Clients.” It really is one of my greatest joys to watch a family grow and evolve over the months and years!

In a perfect world, I would love for you to have a family session in every season- but I know that isn’t always feasible.
