Sophie Kaye Workshop | New York Film Wedding Photographer

Although most of my photography business is focused on mothers and family, I never pass up the opportunity to document beautiful details and couples hopelessly in love! So of course, I jumped on the opportunity to continue my education and expand my skillset at the Sophie Kaye Workshop in May in NYC (I’m a sucker for Central Park and the stunning Bethesda Terrace)

I’ve had a love for film for many years, which made this workshop a great chance to work within the medium. All of these images are film!

I’ve found that when shooting film, I enjoy the slower pace of more intentional photos. Because I don’t have the ability to edit them later, I tend to take just a bit more time to frame out the details and pay careful attention to the background images. Not that I don’t do this in digital, but it definitely makes me more aware of what’s happening outside of the frame AND inside the frame. I love the intense focus it encourages and the results are so pretty (it’s a softness that lends itself to my classic style).
