I love when lifestyle sessions show off a family’s personality.  Family sessions can, of course, be more formal, but they’re also a great time to capture your family doing things that you love.  When you book a more unconventional session, there’s less pressure on your kids to look at the camera and smile so you’re more likely to get some great candid shots.  I wanted to create a list of some South Florida family photography photo session ideas that are traditional, yet unconventional.

South Florida Family Photography Photo Session Ideas

Make cookies or pizza (or another favorite food) in your home. 

This is a great way to keep the kids busy and engaged in the session.  A well lit kitchen is preferred so this session is great for midday.

Ice cream date

Yes, the kids’ faces may get messy, but capturing the looks of pure joy will be well worth it!  This is one of my favorite family photo session ideas!

A day at the museum

This is another great activity to keep the kids occupied and get some fun photos of them interacting with the exhibits.  Seeing the looks of wonder on their faces is priceless!

Natural daytime beach photos

I had to include a beach session for our south Florida family photography session ideas! Beach sessions don’t necessarily have to mean pretty photos along the sand. We can also take photos of your family in the water and capture a fun day at the beach.

Boating days

If your family likes to be out on the water, a boating session is perfect for you!  Taking the boat out a little before sunset will help us get some good golden hour photos.

Destination photoshoots

If you have a special place that you like to visit with your family (a park, a vacation house, etc.), that’s another great option for a unique photo session idea.  Capturing your family in a place where you’re comfortable will make for great photos.
